Surge Cadets & Surge 2.0 try-outs

Color Guard Season is About to Begin!
Oaklyn’s Color Guards – Surge Cadets and Surge 2.0- are ready to defend their 2019 championships.
Interested in checking it out? You are welcome to join us on Dec. 10th and Dec. 12th (Tuesday & Thursday) at Oaklyn Public School’s gym from 4-5:15. (Typical rehearsals are in the 3:30-6:00 range at age appropriate intervals)

TIA Atlantic Coast Championship 2019

Big weekend for SURGE COLOR GUARD!
Surge Cadets tied for GOLD as Independent Cadet Guard champions.
Surge 2.0 earned FIRST PLACE as the new Independent Junior Guard champions.
Surge earned SECOND PLACE as Independent A Guard.

TIA Region 1 Championship

Gold medals for all three Surge Independent teams at the 2019 Tournament Indoor Association Region 1 Championship on April 28th!

As a special bonus to our night – our director, Debbie Heller, was honored this year for her 40+ years of commitment to the “Sport of the Arts”! In addition to founding Surge Independent and building a great team of coaches to expand into Surge Cadets and Surge 2.0, Debbie works with the Haddon Heights school district’s colorguard teams.

WGI Championship

Surge Independent (A) ranked 30th out of 60 colorguards going into the Independent A preliminary competition for WGI. They placed 35th during prelims with a score of 80.88 and 35th during semi-finals with a score of 81.1. Congratulations on reaching the Semi-Finals, “Big” Surge!

Haddon Heights High School “High Voltage”, our partners in local guard, placed 79th out of 143 going into the Scholastic A preliminary competition and 68th during prelims. Congratulations for placing above more than half the groups attending!
